One of the great New England traditions for guests at Follansbee Inn during February is Ice Day by Muster Field Farm Museum.

The ice cutting on Kezar Lake is done by a gas powered saw and is finished by hand by volunteers. Harvested ice is loaded by their ice block fulcrum onto wagons and vehicles, then hauled to the Farm so their Ice House, c.1890, is fully stacked with block ice for use summer events.

This year’s event was held on February 8th and while the temperature was cold, the sun was out and everyone had a great time.
