Labor Day Weekend is coming, which means that means our summer season is coming to a close and it’s time to start looking ahead to Fall. Luckily for us, fall foliage near the Follansbee Inn is a true delight for the senses.
It’s pretty hard to go wrong during the fall in the Lakes Region. Everywhere you turn, you’ll be rewarded with dazzling displays of fiery reds and oranges, mixed with bright pops of yellows and greens. From the shores of the Follansbee Inn you can enjoy these colorful displays without going far. Stay close to the property, get out on Kezar Lake, or get the best views by hiking up in the surrounding mountains.
The Fall foliage in New Hampshire normally changes from North & West to South and East. Almost the entire two months of September and October there is peak fall Foliage in one place or another in the Granite State.
Mid-September through mid-October is when colorful fall foliage rushes over New Hampshire, and it usually unveils itself from northwest to southeast.
Though the stunning colors of fall can be seen all around the state, New Hampshire’s best fall foliage is in the White Mountains. Whether you want to take in the breathtaking scenery on an afternoon hike or meander along the mountain roads on a scenic fall drive, it’s possible in the White Mountains.
Take a scenic drive along the Kancamagus Highway (Route 112), between North Conway and Lincoln. A bit further north are the Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch state parks, where vistas are magnificent. Moose can be spotted in the Great North Woods region. In the Lakes region, crystal lakes add some blue to the view near Winnipesaukee and Squam lakes. Be sure to take a camera and pose with one of the state’s picturesque covered bridges.
